Defenders in Sumy Region Receive New Batch of Interceptor Drones

Total cost of the transferred military equipment amounts to nearly 3.9 million hryvnias

Ukrainian military personnel in Sumy region have received 70 new "General Chereshnia" interceptor drones. The equipment was transferred to the Air Assault Forces units and a local volunteer formation. This was reported by Ukrinform citing Oleh Hryhorov, according to the portal PromPolitInform.

Ukraine’s Defense Forces in border areas continue to receive modern technical equipment to counter aerial threats from Russia. A new batch of special-purpose unmanned aerial vehicles has arrived at the balance of units holding defense in the north of the country.

Distribution of Equipment Among Units

The main part of the new UAV batch went to meet the needs of the army. Specifically, 60 units of equipment were transferred to the disposal of the 8th Corps of the Air Assault Forces. Another 10 such devices were received by fighters of the Sumy community volunteer formation.

Additional Support for the Frontline

In addition to drones, the troops received an all-terrain vehicle. The SUV is designed to ensure the mobility of the unmanned systems battalion of the 8th Corps of the Air Assault Forces during combat missions.

Assessment of Equipment Effectiveness

The regional leadership noted that such systems are already being used by the military on the frontline. They demonstrate high results in detecting, intercepting, and destroying both reconnaissance and strike enemy drones.

Funding of Defense Supplies

The total value of the transferred property is 3 million 850 thousand UAH. Head of the Regional State Administration Oleh Hryhorov expressed gratitude to all citizens and organizations who join in supporting the defenders.
