Restrictions target 70 defense industry specialists and networks circumventing financial sanctions
President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has signed decrees enacting the NSDC decision to impose sanctions on individuals involved in the production of ballistic missiles. The measures target 70 employees of Russian defense industry enterprises, as well as those involved in financial sanction evasion schemes. This was reported by Glavcom citing Office of the President of Ukraine, according to the portal PromPolitInform.
The Head of State has approved a list of restrictions targeting Russian entities involved in arms manufacturing, as well as individuals aiding occupiers in captured territories. The sanctions list includes 70 specialists ensuring the continuous production cycle of Iskander-M and Zircon missiles.
The list includes employees of the Votkinsk Plant, research institutes such as Polyus and Submikron, and various enterprises in the chemical and machine-building sectors, including Metafrax Chemicals and the Sverdlov and Morozov plants. As noted by the Presidential Commissioner for Sanctions Policy, Vladyslav Vlasiuk, personal responsibility awaits every engineer and production manager whose activities are aimed at strengthening Russia’s missile potential.
Financial sector and support for aggression
A separate sanctions package covers 28 individuals and 27 legal entities responsible for operating shadow financial networks. Restrictions have been applied to cryptocurrency exchange operators and owners of entities belonging to the A7 network, which provides services for circumventing international financial restrictions.
Additionally, 10 individuals and 21 legal entities, along with two vessels serving the interests of Russia in temporarily occupied territories, have been sanctioned. This list includes collaborators who fund armed aggression, carry out the theft of natural resources, and spread propaganda, as well as enterprises providing telecommunications services and manufacturing electronics under occupation.
International coordination
The Ukrainian side plans to work with international partners to fully synchronize sanctions against these individuals and Russian defense industry facilities. Similar measures against the A7 network were previously initiated by the United States of America.
In total, 153 people have been killed and over 700 injured due to Russian shelling in the past seven days alone. Russia continues to carry out strikes using guided aerial bombs, strike drones, and ballistic missiles against civilian objects and Ukraine’s critical infrastructure.
