US will force Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Vladimir Putin to sign a peace deal, — Donald Trump

The US President commented on compliance with the energy truce

US President Donald Trump has announced his intention to force Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Russian dictator Vladimir Putin into concluding a peace agreement. This was reported by RBC-Ukraine (Едуард Ткач) citing Magno News, according to the portal PromPolitInform.

The American leader spoke with media representatives during another press briefing. Journalists asked him about the status of the so-called energy truce between the warring parties.

Journalists drew the politician’s attention to the fact that the Russian side violated the agreement twice — on the night of October 12 and on the evening of the same day. The head of the White House initially doubted this, promising to conduct a check, and later stated there were violations from both sides.

Statements on the truce

In response to remarks about the Kremlin leader’s unwillingness to abide by agreements against the background of alleged consent from the Ukrainian side, the American leader claimed that both leaders support the idea. Touching upon the topic of a comprehensive settlement of the conflict, the politician expressed the view that the head of Russia supposedly strives for this more than the Ukrainian president.

«I think Putin wants to make a deal, and we need to get Zelenskyy to want to make a deal too… I think actually Putin wants to make a deal more than Zelenskyy… I think they want to make a deal, but they don’t know how to make a deal. But we’re going to make them make a deal», — Donald Trump said.

The issue of diesel agreements

In addition, the conversation touched upon the topic of the diesel agreement with the Russian Federation. According to the American leader, this arrangement is intended not for the United States, but for the rest of the world.
