DOT-Chain Defence supplies 20% of drones purchased by Defence Procurement Agency

Over 500 frontline units order military equipment directly through marketplace

Since the launch of the DOT-Chain Defence online marketplace in July 2025, every fifth drone purchased by the Defence Procurement Agency has been delivered through the platform. More than 500 combat units of the Ukrainian Defence Forces actively use the system. This is reported by the portal PromPolitInform, citing information from the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine.

In addition to various types of unmanned aerial vehicles, munitions designed for them are also available on the digital platform. Combat units can choose FPV drones, bomber drones, and fixed-wing UAVs depending on their immediate operational requirements.

The marketplace catalogue also includes other high-tech ground systems for frontline operations. Military units can directly order unmanned ground vehicles and electronic warfare equipment.

Benefits of direct procurement by frontline units

The platform operates like an online shop, allowing military units to independently decide how state funds are allocated for their supplies. This sets the marketplace apart from traditional procurement routes based on rigid tactical specifications or centralized distribution lists.

Frontline formations place their orders directly in the system within a few clicks. The procurement agency handles all subsequent contractual procedures and payments to manufacturers.

Delivery timelines and rapid technological change

When items are available in stock, the delivery timeline from placing an order to shipment to the troops takes eight days. If an item requires a pre-order with the manufacturer, fulfillment takes around a month and a half.

“Delivery speed is critical for unmanned systems, as technology in this domain is evolving rapidly. Manufacturers and the military are constantly improving solutions and adapting them to new countermeasures. Thanks to DOT-Chain Defence, units can swiftly receive state-of-the-art equipment to react effectively to evolving battlefield conditions,” said Artem Romaniukov, acting director of the Defence Procurement Agency DOT.

Earlier, the defence ministry reported that Ukrainian forces had received more than one million drones and other equipment through the digital platform since the start of 2026.
