The event was organized with the participation of the Ukrainian Helsinki Human Rights Union and representatives of 18 state institutions. This is reported by the portal PromPolitInform, citing information from the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine.
Meeting participants agreed on approaches to resolving legal issues and outlined directions for further amendments to national legislation. The primary basis for discussion was a joint draft Implementation Plan defining measures to eliminate gaps in implementing the provisions of the international document.
Legal status and security guarantees
The regulatory agreement governs the status of armed forces while on the territory of another participating state. For Ukraine, these provisions apply through arrangements within the Partnership for Peace program, which is of particular importance in the context of potential security guarantees.
Amendments to the Criminal Procedure Code
Particular attention during the discussion was paid to the practical application of criminal jurisdiction norms. Representatives of the Office of the Prosecutor General and the Ministry of Justice of Ukraine shared their experience.
Customs regulation and damage compensation
In addition to criminal matters, experts reviewed procedures for examining claims and compensating damages. Participants also focused on the state of customs regulation and taxation nuances regarding the application of international norms.
Translation update and further steps
Earlier, with the direct participation of the agency, the official translation of the document was updated on the Verkhovna Rada portal. The next stage will involve additional consultations among relevant bodies to finally adopt the necessary legislative changes.
