Diplomats are working to block the Russian Rassvet satellite communication system
Ukraine has handed over six sanctions packages targeting Russian ballistic missile manufacturers to its European partners. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs is conducting a special sanctions operation to curb the enemy's military potential. This is reported by the portal PromPolitInform, citing the Telegram channel of MFA of Ukraine.
The agency focuses on restricting the operations of plants and research institutes that develop Iskander-M, RM-48U, and other missile systems. Simultaneously, the Ukrainian side is preparing similar restrictions against enterprises producing cruise missiles and strike drones.
Countering Satellite Communications
Together with the Ministry of Digital Transformation, Ukrainian diplomats are blocking Russian plans to launch the Rassvet satellite communication system. The purpose of these measures is to prevent the remote piloting of jet-powered drones over Ukrainian territories.
To achieve this goal, Kyiv interacts with Euro-Atlantic partners both through the International Telecommunication Union and in bilateral contacts. This issue has already been raised twice during negotiations with US congressmen.
Confiscation of Russian Assets
In addition to the sanctions track, ministry representatives participate in the work of the interagency group chaired by Prime Minister of Ukraine Sergiy Koretsky. Efforts are aimed at utilizing frozen Russian assets abroad to finance the state.
“Partners have frozen about 330 billion euros in total across various jurisdictions. We are constantly interacting with partners in order to structure new tools for Ukraine’s long-term financing,” Heorhii Tykhyi noted.
