Taras Bublyk: UAV technology and countermeasure systems will evolve in parallel

The future of defense technology depends on integrating AI and maintaining economic viability

In the coming years, the market for unmanned systems and counter-drone equipment will adapt to each other through continuous evolution. This was stated by Taras Bublyk, CEO of the Ukrainian company UNWAVE. This was reported by Ukrinform citing Taras Bublyk, according to the portal PromPolitInform.

Modern warfare is defined by a relentless cycle of evolution between strike assets and defense methods. According to defense-tech experts, drones are becoming increasingly sophisticated, forcing electronic warfare systems to become more intelligent in order to provide effective countermeasures.

The economic aspect of defense technologies

Beyond refining traditional methods, developers are focusing on cutting-edge solutions like laser systems and electromagnetic pulses. The primary constraint for large-scale adoption remains economic feasibility. In combat conditions, high-cost equipment risks being destroyed rapidly, which is why priority is placed on scalable and effective technologies.

Integration of artificial intelligence

Artificial intelligence is set to play a crucial role in the future, optimizing the processing of communication protocols. AI helps operators filter the massive streams of data originating from the battlefield, discarding secondary information and constructing a cohesive tactical picture. This is critical, as human capacity is insufficient to analyze such volumes of sensor data in real time.

A comprehensive approach to neutralizing threats

Neutralizing autonomous drones today requires more than a single universal solution. Effective protection necessitates combining electronic intelligence with radars, acoustic sensors, thermal imaging, and optical devices. The key challenge lies not only in early detection and classification but also in the rapid identification of the most effective and economically viable method of neutralization based on the specific threat type.
