Ten Ukrainian tennis players aged 12 to 16 will undergo free professional training as part of the initiative
Crypto exchange WhiteBIT and the Svitolina Foundation have launched a joint program for training young Ukrainian tennis players in Spain. The first ten participants, selected based on national rankings, have already begun their training under the guidance of international experts. This was reported by RBC-Ukraine (Малюгін Микита) citing WhiteBIT, according to the portal PromPolitInform.
The WhiteBIT x Svitolina Foundation Llorca Pons Tennis Residency project is aimed at athletes aged 12–16. The training is based in Spain, led by renowned expert Maria Jose Llorca Pons, who previously worked with players ranked in the WTA top 30.
The initiative is financially supported by Volodymyr Nosov, founder of the W Group fintech ecosystem. Participation is entirely free for the athletes. Throughout the year, the organizers plan to hold a total of four intakes to train talented youth.
Support during the war
The program is a response to the challenges that the full-scale war has created for domestic sports. Due to regular air raid alerts and power supply issues, consistent training in Ukraine has become significantly more difficult, prompting the initiators to provide children with a stable environment for their development.
The public organization Tryzub has also joined the initiative. Volodymyr Nosov, founder of W Group, emphasized that the main goal is to ensure professional growth regardless of the athletes’ families’ financial situation.
Participation of Elina Svitolina
Elina Svitolina, the global ambassador for the crypto exchange, is directly involved in the project. The athlete visits training camps to share her experience of competing in Grand Slam tournaments with the young players.
The first group of participants includes girls from seven regions of Ukraine, including Kyiv, Lviv, and Odesa. Beyond practical court sessions, the program includes comprehensive work on tactical, technical, and physical training for the athletes.
