Energy infrastructure in Kyiv and Dnipro regions suffers the heaviest damage from strikes

Massive Russian strikes on Ukraine's energy infrastructure have caused power outages for consumers across nine regions. The situation with electricity supply remains most difficult in the Kyiv and Dnipro regions. This is reported by the portal PromPolitInform, citing the Telegram channel of the Ministry of Energy of Ukraine.

Over the past week, russian forces launched 94 targeted attacks against Ukraine’s energy and oil and gas sectors. The relevant agency recorded a total of 208 incidents that caused the destruction or damage of critical infrastructure.

According to the Ministry of Energy, new power outages occurred in Vinnytsia, Dnipropetrovsk, Donetsk, Zaporizhzhia, Kirovohrad, Odesa, Rivne, Kharkiv, and Cherkasy regions. The most complex situation with electricity supply persists in the Dnipropetrovsk and Kyiv regions, where damage to energy equipment has impaired power transmission capabilities.

Emergency power blackouts

Emergency power outages are being forcibly applied in these regions due to equipment damage and voltage drops in the high-voltage network. Previously published schedules are temporarily suspended, and a return to predictable schedules will occur after the energy system stabilizes.

Certain regions are also implementing consumption restriction measures to balance the energy system and maintain its stable operation. Residents are advised to monitor updates from local distribution system operators for accurate power supply schedules.

Casualties among energy workers

Russia took the life of an energy worker from Kramatorsk in the Donetsk region while on duty. Additionally, an energy worker sustained injuries following a drone attack on a substation site in the Kharkiv region.

First Deputy Minister of Energy of Ukraine Artem Nekrasov held a briefing on the operational situation in the power grid. The injured worker in the Kharkiv region received necessary medical assistance.
