Natural gas used for electricity generation in Ukraine will become more expensive, as the government has approved new pricing for power producers. The resolution will remain in force until the end of March 2026. This was reported by We–Ukraine, citing Cabinet of Ministers Resolution No. 1306 dated October 10, according to the PromPolitInform portal.
The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has approved updated natural gas prices for enterprises generating electricity. The price will depend on the type of generation.
According to the document, combined heat and power plants (CHPs) operating in a cogeneration (heating) mode will pay UAH 21,000 per 1,000 cubic meters of gas. For thermal power plants (TPPs) and CHPs generating electricity in a condensing cycle, the price is set at UAH 16,000 per 1,000 cubic meters.
The same price — UAH 16,000 per 1,000 cubic meters — applies to gas turbine and gas engine units that generate electricity only. However, if such units produce both heat and electricity in a combined cycle, the gas price will be UAH 21,000 per 1,000 cubic meters.
The new prices will remain effective until March 31, 2026.
