«America First»: Trump Shifts US Arms Delivery Priorities

The new strategy aims not only to expedite deliveries to allies but also to attract foreign investment for the development of the American defense industry.

US President Donald Trump signed an executive order changing the order in which American weapons are received. Now, priority will be given to countries with higher defense spending and strategic importance in their region, according to Reuters and Dengi.ua. PromPolitInform reports.

Yes, the document approves an arms transfer strategy called “America First.” It obliges federal agencies to prioritize arms sales to partners that are actively investing in their own defense and have a key geographic location.

The White House explained that the goal of the initiative is not only to expedite deliveries to key allies but also to attract foreign capital to expand production capacity in the United States.

To implement the plan, the secretaries of defense, commerce, and state must create a catalog of priority systems for export. The decree also provides for the simplification of bureaucratic procedures, particularly regarding permits for the transfer of weapons to third parties, to avoid logistical delays. However, the document does not mention specific countries.
