Об этом в компании «Киевстар» сообщили в ответ на запрос РБК-Украина, передает портал PromPolitInform.
Kyivstar increases the cost of individual tariff plans that have not undergone changes for more than a year.
This was reported to Kyivstar in response to a request from RBC-Ukraine, the PromPolitInform portal informs.
“We understand that any increase in the cost of tariffs is a sensitive issue. However, in the face of military and economic challenges, this is a necessary step so that communication, the Internet and digital services from Kyivstar, which millions of people rely on every day, work stably, “RBC-Ukraine says in Kyivstar.
The cost of individual Kyivstar tariffs is growing. At the same time, subscribers for whom the cost of the tariff changes will be able to choose additional offers in the form of an increase in the volume of certain services in the tariff, they add to the company.
Subscribers who are not suitable for the tariff can change it to a more relevant one, and subscription subscribers can switch to the tariff of the contract form of service.
“Also, as before, “Superpowers” are available to subscribers, allowing them to expand services to choose from: Kyivstar TV, Helsi, roaming, additional GB and many other individual offers that can be updated monthly,” the press service details.
Why tariffs are rising
Kyivstar explained the revision of tariffs by the need to maintain a stable connection for more than 23 million users in war conditions.
There was a big increase in costs: from a 60% increase in electricity for business to an eleven-fold increase in fuel consumption for generators during blackouts.
The company noted that the key resource for the operation of base stations is electricity, the price of which in the summer of 2025 for business increased by 60%.
“In December, due to large-scale blackouts throughout the country, fuel consumption increased more than 11 times compared to the summer period and amounted to 1.1 million liters per month,” Kyivstar noted, adding that such dynamics indicate a significant increase in real costs for maintaining the network.
How tariffs will rise in price and when to wait for new prices
In response to a request from RBC-Ukraine, Kyivstar did not indicate exactly what tariffs will rise in price and when exactly this will happen. But on the eve of the media wrote that price increases are planned from March 1.
According to the technical community “MZU – Mobile Communication of Ukraine,” Kyivstar updates the cost of seven archival offers, which are currently closed for new connections, which will lead to a rise in price of services by 50-90 UAH.
The price correction will affect the tariff plans “Tasty,” “Kyivstar Comfort 2018,” “LOVE UA Basic,” “LOVE UA Freedom/Freedom 2022,” “Bezlim Social Networks,” “Without Borders lite” and “YOUR Favorite,” while the operator will expand the volume of mobile Internet for use abroad within the service Roam Like At Home.
Recall that from February 6, Kyivstar introduced new conditions for the validity of numbers for subscription users: although the general period remains familiar – 365 days – from now on this period will be divided into two separate stages.
Also on the eve of Kyivstar updated the terms of tariffs due to rising costs for electricity, fuel and maintaining a stable network.
