Complex power outage schedules will be in effect in Ukraine in the coming days. This is due to cold weather and a shortage of electricity generation. This was reported by NTA, citing First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Energy of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal on Facebook. PromPolitInform reports.
The Minister of Energy said that he held a meeting of the headquarters for the elimination of the consequences of Russian shelling of the energy sector. Representatives of energy companies, the Ministry of Development, and regional and capital city authorities reported.
Shmyhal emphasized that repair work at energy facilities targeted by Russian occupiers is continuing around the clock.
“Tuesday and Wednesday (February 10-11 – ed.) will have complex schedules due to low temperatures, as they did today, despite the fact that solar power is partially supporting the system during the day,” he said.
As a reminder, Russian occupiers continue to launch massive strikes against energy facilities in Ukraine on a weekly basis. These attacks severely damaged power facilities in the Kyiv region. Temporary hourly power outages were introduced in the capital.
After one of the most recent strikes, the Darnytsia Thermal Power Plant was almost completely destroyed. Therefore, many residents of the Dniprovskyi and Darnytskyi districts of the capital will be without heat until the end of winter.
The plant is expected to be restored within two months. A key condition for this is the absence of further Russian strikes.
