Member countries of the Contact Group on Ukraine’s Defense have announced new military support totaling $35 billion. This was announced by British Defense Secretary John Gili after the Ramstein meeting, Ukrinform reports. PromPolitInform reports.
Gili noted that Russian aggression against Ukraine is intensifying and “it is brutal.” The minister emphasized that Russia is shelling “Ukrainian civilians, not just the front line.”
He added that Ramstein’s mission is to support Ukraine in its fight “now and to help secure peace tomorrow.”
“We begin this big year for Ukraine with a strong commitment to Ukraine,” Gili said, adding that the Contact Group has pledged to provide a total of $35 billion in military support.
“We want to make 2026 the year this war ends, the year peace is secured,” the minister said.
