In 2025, Ukraine received bank transfers from abroad for $72.3 billion – NBU

In 2025, 72.32 billion US dollars came to Ukraine from abroad. USD using credit transfer, of which 68.88 billion USD. US equivalent (95.25%) – to the accounts of business entities.

This was  announced by the National Bank of Ukraine, informs the portal PromPolitInform.

In general, over the past year, more than 3.1 billion payment transactions were carried out within Ukraine, initiated using a credit transfer (bank transfer at the initiative of the owner) and direct debit (debiting funds from the payer’s account).

“In favor of individuals in Ukraine from abroad for this period carried out 7.2 million transactions, or 72.70% of the total number of payment transactions initiated with the use of credit transfer. At the same time, 68.88 billion dollars. US equivalent, or 95.25% of the total amount of payment transactions initiated using credit transfer, came from abroad in favor of business entities (under foreign economic contracts). Most funds to Ukraine came from the EU (46.68%), Switzerland (20.46%), the United States (11.04%), “- stated in the message.

According to the National Bank, cross-border transactions with the use of credit transfer in 2025 were carried out:

to Ukraine – in the amount of 72.32 billion US dollars. US equivalent (in 2024 – by 69.27 billion US dollars) US equivalent);

from Ukraine – in the amount of $89.99 billion. US equivalent (in 2024 – by 77.06 billion US dollars) USA equivalent).

In 2025, most payment transactions within Ukraine initiated with the use of credit transfer were made from individual accounts: 2 505.2 million, or 80.14% of the total.

At the same time, the amount of most such payment transactions was made from the accounts of business entities – by 45.42 trillion UAH, or 93.14% of the total amount.

During the same period, payment transactions were carried out in Ukraine using direct debit (write-off) for UAH 15.41 billion (in 2024 – for UAH 31.20 billion).

In Ukraine, in 2025, services for payment transactions initiated using credit transfer and direct debit were provided to the population and business by 60 banks and three non-bank financial institutions.

As reported, the National Bank of Ukraine in 2023 began to collect and publish information on the volume of use of such payment instruments as credit transfer and direct debit.

With their use, business and the population carry out both transfers of funds within Ukraine and cross-border (to Ukraine and beyond) settlements, including for international trade (export/import of goods and services).
