Information has been received that Russia is preparing new strikes on Ukrainian energy facilities. All services have been instructed to prepare as much as possible for the next challenges. First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Energy Denys Shmyhal announced this on Facebook following a meeting of the Energy Headquarters, Ukrinform reports. PromPolitInform reports.
“Thanks to the work of repair crews and rising temperatures, we are seeing a trend toward improving the power supply situation. At the same time, there is information about the enemy preparing new strikes on the energy sector. Therefore, the task for all services is not only rapid restoration but also maximum readiness for the next challenges,” he noted.
The Deputy Prime Minister reported that the cleanup of the consequences of the Russian attacks continues around the clock. The largest number of calls are in Odesa and the frontline regions.
In Kyiv, more than 200 crews are working to restore heat and electricity. Work with partners on equipment supplies continues on a daily basis. According to Shmyhal, agreements have been reached to attract €600 million to strengthen Ukraine’s energy resilience following the visit of a Ministry of Energy team to France.
A group of Ukrainian engineers and technical specialists has already departed for Europe to inspect six power plants, whose equipment can be delivered to Ukraine as quickly as possible.
As reported, due to the consequences of massive Russian attacks, electricity consumption has been limited in most regions of Ukraine. Emergency power outages have been implemented in some regions.
