On February 23, the Cabinet of Ministers approved a unified model charter for fuel and energy companies. Similar models will be approved for state-owned enterprises in other sectors in the future. Ukrainian Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko announced this on Telegram, according to Ukrinform. PromPolitInform reports.

“Today, the government approved a model charter for business entities in the fuel and energy sector. This is another systematic step in implementing the government’s plan to reboot governance in the energy sector,” the statement reads.

According to Svyrydenko, the introduction of a unified model charter will facilitate the implementation of modern corporate governance standards, avoid subjective treatment of different companies in the sector, standardize approaches to the formation of management bodies and the definition of their powers, and improve transparency, accountability, and the overall efficiency of state-owned companies.

The government will also approve similar model charters for state-owned companies in other sectors of the economy. As reported, on January 29, the Cabinet of Ministers, based on a proposal from the nomination committee, appointed a new Supervisory Board of NNEGC Energoatom.

It was also reported that the Cabinet of Ministers approved the terms of civil contracts concluded with independent members and government representatives of the Supervisory Board of NNEGC Energoatom.
