The Verkhovna Rada ratified the agreement with Poland, which allows the activities of the Polish bank Bank Gospodarstwa Krajowego Ukraine.This bank is the only one in Poland that is fully owned by the State Treasury, that is, it is a state bank and supports the economic policy of the Polish government.
This is stated on the website of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, informs the portal PromPolitInform.
The explanatory note of the bill states that BGK will be able to carry out its activities on the territory of Ukraine, as well as provide loans and other financial assistance to the government, public and private institutions. It is, in particular, about:
- establishment of a representative office in Ukraine;
- hiring personnel with Ukrainian, Polish or other citizenship;
- negotiations, contracts, guarantees and any other activities necessary for the implementation of projects, in the manner and methods defined in the agreement.
Among the available financing tools are loans, export support, grants, guarantees for the implementation of projects for the restoration and development of Ukraine, etc.
“The implementation of the agreement will contribute to accelerating the restoration of Ukraine, developing financial and investment cooperation with Poland, as well as attracting additional resources for the implementation of economic development projects,” the Verkhovna Rada noted.
Recall that the agreement on the activities of the Polish Bank Gospodarstwa Krajowego was signed on September 25, 2025.
