The Ministry of Defense has set the amount of monetary compensation for housing sublease for military personnel in 2026: from UAH 2,280 to UAH 4,560, depending on the location, with a 1.5-fold increase for large families. This was reported by Delo.ua, citing the Ministry of Defense. PromPolitInform also reports.
Compensation amounts in 2026:
Kyiv – UAH 4,560;
regional centers – UAH 3,420;
other locations – UAH 2,280.
For military personnel with three or more family members, these amounts are increased by 1.5-fold.
Who is eligible for compensation?
Service members of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and other components of the defense forces are eligible for payment if they do not have their own housing at their place of service. Compensation is provided to:
officers (including conscripted officers);
private, sergeant, and petty officers under contract;
cadets of higher military educational institutions and military educational units of higher education who have families.
The procedure for assigning and paying compensation is regulated by Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine Resolution No. 450 of June 26, 2013 (as amended) and Ministry of Defense Order No. 380 of July 31, 2018 (as amended), which approved the Instructions for Providing Military Personnel and Their Families with Housing.
The amount of compensation is determined annually, taking into account the financial resources allocated in the Defense Ministry’s budget for the budget year.
As a reminder, last year the Cabinet of Ministers adopted a decision significantly simplifying access to housing for military personnel. From now on, all mobilized military personnel are eligible to take advantage of the state-funded affordable mortgage program “Yeselya” under the most favorable terms.
