German Chancellor Friedrich Merz, after meeting with US President Donald Trump at the White House on March 3, said that Europe would not allow decisions on Ukraine without its participation.
It is reported by Reuters, informs the portal PromPolitInform.
“Without the participation of Europeans, there will be no agreement,” Merz said.
According to him, any agreement should take into account the position of European countries and can not be concluded “through our heads.”
The chancellor also called for increased pressure on Moscow, saying that Russia is “playing for time” and, in doing so, is acting contrary to the intentions of the American president.
In his opinion, it is pressure from Washington that can force the Kremlin to move towards real steps in the negotiations.
