In Kyiv, the number of foreign guests who come with a very specific goal has noticeably increased in recent days – to see Ukrainian drone technologies and counter-drone systems. According to public figure and former MP Ihor Lutsenko, a kind of excitement has even arisen in the capital. Life.Kyiv.ua reports this, according to the PromPolitInform portal.
“There is a huge excitement in Kyiv, hotels are full of foreigners who are urgently interested in our drone defense. It looks like a gold rush,” he noted.
Kyiv as a center of new military technology
During the years of full-scale war, Ukraine has actually become a laboratory for modern drone warfare. Massive drone attacks have forced the military and engineers to create new defense systems that are now attracting the attention of the whole world.
It is not only about the drones themselves, but about complex countermeasure systems, which include:
radars and early detection systems,
interceptor drones,
integration of various means of defense into a single system.
It is this experience gained in real combat conditions that makes Ukrainian solutions unique.
The world began to seek protection from drones
Interest in Ukrainian technologies has grown against the backdrop of new threats in different regions of the world. The massive use of strike drones has forced many states to think about their own security.
According to Lutsenko, some countries, particularly in the Middle East, have not yet created an effective system for countering drones, so they are paying attention to the Ukrainian experience.
“Arab countries have not yet been able to provide adequate countermeasures. And now they are turning to us for help, to Kyiv,” he noted.
Technologies created at the front
Lutsenko emphasizes that the key role in the development of these technologies was played by the military, engineers and volunteer teams who worked directly at the front.
It was they who experimented with new solutions, created prototypes and quickly implemented them in combat conditions.
“They shot down, designed and experimented,” he emphasized.
The high price of a technological breakthrough
At the same time, the development of the Ukrainian drone industry has a very high price. Many people who stood at the origins of this struggle back in 2014 died in the war.
“A high position in the world ranking cost us a lot of blood,” Lutsenko noted.
The beginning of a new technological era
Despite the losses, experts are convinced that Ukraine is only at the beginning of a major transformation in the field of military technologies.
This is the era of robotic systems, where drones, autonomous complexes and artificial intelligence are gradually changing the nature of modern warfare.
And Kyiv is today becoming one of the centers of this new technological reality.
