Ukraine needs to implement 25 reforms to receive 10 billion euros by the end of 2026

In order to receive more than 10 billion euros to support the Ukrainian budget within the framework of the EU loan of 90 billion euros and the Ukraine Facility mechanism, the Ukrainian authorities must implement 25 reforms/steps. This is reported by “Yevropeyska Pravda“, the PromPolitInform portal reports.

In order to receive another 10 billion euros out of 90 billion from the EU to support the budget, Ukraine must implement 25 steps.

This is the updated reform plan “Ukrainian Plan” within the framework of the Ukraine Facility mechanism, which was approved in principle by EU ambassadors last week and should be approved by the EU Council by written procedure on Thursday, July 30.

According to the plan, Ukraine can receive 2.86 billion euros for the implementation of a list of seven reforms, which include the entry into force of legislation that ensures transparent and fair selection of senior prosecutors, legislation on simplified insolvency procedures for small and medium-sized businesses, as well as improving the state electronic register of farms.

Ukraine can also receive a large tranche of 7.5 billion euros in 2026 if it implements 18 reforms/steps, which include the appointment of independent supervisory boards of state-owned enterprises, the implementation of an updated IT system for the execution of court decisions, significant investments in education and healthcare, providing housing for disabled veterans, family members of deceased veterans and internally displaced persons in the amount of at least 200 million euros, etc.

The “Ukrainian Plan” within the framework of the Ukraine Facility mechanism identifies another 34 reforms/steps, for the implementation of which official Kyiv can receive another 5 billion euros in 2026.

As reported, the Ukrainian government approved the amendments to the Ukraine Facility plan agreed with the European Commission on June 11.

With the new plan, the EU sets stricter conditions for reforms for Ukraine to receive macro-financial tranches – meanwhile, Kyiv is resisting Brussels’ requests.
