Terror Check: How Much Did Russia Cost With Its New Massive Missile Strike on Ukraine

Dengi.ua has calculated how much did Russia’s shelling of civilians cost this time. This is reported by the PromPolitInform portal.

As reported by the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, on the night of March 14, the enemy launched a combined strike on Ukraine’s critical infrastructure with 498 air attack vehicles:

430 Shahed, Gerbera, Italmas attack UAVs and other types of drones (approximately 250 of them are Shaheds);

25 Caliber cruise missiles;

24 Kh-101 cruise missiles;

13 Iskander-M/S-400 ballistic missiles;

4 Kh-59/69 guided aircraft missiles;

2 Zircon anti-ship missiles.

In this summary, the Air Force directly indicates that out of 430 launched drones, about 250 units are Shahed-type strike UAVs. According to information from open sources, with the average cost of one “Shahed” being $35,000, the Russian Federation spent about $8.75 million on this part of the attack. The remaining 180 drones (“Gerbera”, “Italmas” and others) are cheap simulator drones, the cost of which is insignificant on the scale of a missile strike.

The cost of the Iskander-M ballistic missile is about $3 million. The missiles for the S-400 anti-aircraft complex, which the Russian Federation uses to strike ground targets, are estimated by experts at about $2 million. Thus, the launch of 13 ballistic missiles of this type cost the aggressor approximately from $26 million to $39 million. The cost of one Caliber cruise missile is estimated at $6.5 million, respectively, 25 such weapons cost $162.5 million.

One Kh-101 cruise missile costs $13 million – $312 million for 24 missiles used. The approximate cost of the newest anti-ship hypersonic anti-ship missile Zircon, according to experts, is about $15 million per unit. Accordingly, 2 such missiles cost about $30 million. One Kh-59/69 guided aircraft missile is estimated at $0.5 million – $2 million for 4 launched.

Thus, taking into account the above calculations, it can be assumed that the Russian Federation spent a total of $541 million to $554 million on this massive combined attack on Ukraine.

Instead of massive missile terror on Ukrainian infrastructure, the aggressor state could have purchased more than 15 modern high-speed trains or laid dozens of kilometers of new high-quality highways.
