Starting next week, over-the-counter medicines will start being sold at gas stations – government

In addition, Ukraine is expanding the “Affordable Medicines” program – 37 new drugs will be added starting in April.

Prime Minister of Ukraine Yulia Svyrydenko announced that in 2026, the budget of the “Affordable Medicines” program has increased to UAH 8.7 billion. Starting in April, 37 new drugs will be added to the program, which will allow it to cover even more patients. According to the PromPolitInform portal, this was reported by the “Sudovo-Yurydychna Gazeta”.

According to the Prime Minister, during a meeting with the Minister of Health Viktor Lyashko, access to medicines, energy independence of hospitals, and health screening were discussed. So far, more than 6,400 Ukrainians aged 40 and over have been screened, and more than 133,000 have applied through the “Diya” application and ASNs. More than UAH 220 million has already been paid to participants. Screening is available in over 1,700 facilities and includes assessment of cardiovascular risks, diabetes, and mental health.

Starting next week, over-the-counter medications will begin to be sold at gas stations. 15 licenses have already been issued, another 43 applications are in the works, and the State Medical Service is monitoring them.

In addition to medical programs, coordination involves ensuring energy autonomy for medical facilities. More than 250 facilities are already equipped with solar panels, and another 300 will be connected by the end of the year. A pilot project is also being prepared to install batteries for all hospitals, primarily in frontline regions.

Recently, the Ministry of Health approved updated lists of drugs and medical devices subject to reimbursement. 26 new medicines have been added to the list.
