The age of the volunteers in the group will be from 18 to 45 years. Several people in it decided to become artillerymen, and the rest – riflemen.
The eighth group of volunteers of the Ukrainian Legion from among the citizens of Ukraine living abroad signed contracts with the Armed Forces of Ukraine on March 20 in Lublin (Poland). This was reported by Petro Horkusha, a representative of the recruiting center at the Consulate General of Ukraine in Lublin, Ukrinform reports. The PromPolitInform portal informs.
“The signing of contracts by this group of volunteers takes place in two stages: the first group signed contracts today, and the second will do so on Tuesday, March 24,” he said.
Horkusha explained this by the fact that some of the volunteers were unable to arrive in Lublin on Friday, as they are completing their personal and work affairs.
According to him, in total, several dozen people will sign contracts with the Armed Forces in this group. The Ukrainians who signed contracts with the Armed Forces in Lublin on Friday came from different regions of Poland, and one person from Norway. The second batch should include Ukrainians living in Poland and Germany.
“The age of the volunteers in the group that signed contracts on Friday will be from 18 to 45 years. Several people in it decided to become artillerymen, and the rest – riflemen, as required by basic combined-arms training,” Gorkusha noted.
He added that some of the volunteers expressed a desire to make a military career, in particular, to take courses and receive the initial military rank of junior lieutenant.
After passing the military medical commission and the relevant psychological tests and checks, the volunteers will leave next Tuesday for basic combined-arms training at one of the training grounds in Poland.
We remind you that the First Recruitment Center has opened at the Consulate of Ukraine in Lublin (Poland), which recruits volunteer citizens of Ukraine for service in the army.
