Yulia Svyrydenko: Ukraine and the US launched the first investment of the reconstruction fund

A historic meeting of the Board of Directors of the American-Ukrainian Reconstruction Investment Fund (URIF) was held in Kyiv. During the meeting, the first investment decision was made. As reported by Novini.LIVE, this was stated by the Prime Minister of Ukraine Yulia Svyrydenko. The PromPolitInform portal informs.

The first investment of the reconstruction fund for Ukraine

Svyrydenko said that the fund is investing in the Ukrainian company Sine Engineering, which works in the field of communications and navigation. The company’s products are already used by more than 150 Ukrainian manufacturers of drones and interceptor drones.

According to the Prime Minister, the launch of the first investment took place less than a year after the signing of the bilateral agreement on the establishment of the fund. Currently, more than 200 applications have been submitted for consideration, and more than half of them are from Ukrainian companies.

The largest number of investment proposals concern the energy sector, which remains key to the country’s recovery. Other priorities include the production of dual-use products, infrastructure development, and the extraction of critical minerals.

“I am grateful to US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessant for his leadership in ensuring the effective work of the Fund. I thank DFC Chief Investment Officer Connor Coleman, US Under Secretary of the Treasury for International Finance Jonathan Greenstein, and all members of the American delegation who came to Ukraine this week amid the massive shelling. Special thanks to US Chargé d’Affaires ai to Ukraine Julie Davis for her constant communication, support, and coordination of our cooperation,” said Yulia Svyrydenko.

According to her, the activities of the US-Ukrainian Reconstruction Investment Fund are an important part of the strategic partnership with the US and demonstrate Ukraine’s investment attractiveness even in times of war.

As already written, earlier Yulia Svyridenko said that Ukraine needs almost 278 billion UAH for energy. Now our country must take urgent measures to prepare for the next heating season.

The Prime Minister also reported that Ukraine will be allocated 11.2 billion for the protection of critical infrastructure. 210 objects have been identified, on which work will begin in the coming days.
