Zelenskyy gave details about the “energy corridor” being created together with Bulgaria

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that Ukraine and Bulgaria are developing an “energy corridor” that could become a backup supply route for Ukraine and provide, among other things, up to 10 billion cubic meters of gas per year. As reported by “European Pravda“, he stated this at a joint briefing with Acting Prime Minister of Bulgaria Andrei Gyurov in Kyiv, the PromPolitInform portal reports.

Zelenskyy said that Kyiv and Sofia are working on creating an “energy corridor” through Bulgaria and this issue was actively discussed at the ministerial level.

“This corridor will be technically equipped – we hope – by the end of the year. For us, this is very important and can be an alternative if there are any blockages by some representatives of Europe. As for gas, this corridor can be at the level of about 10 billion cubic meters of gas per year. For us, these are “energy” security guarantees,” Zelenskyy said.

As reported, on March 30, Ukraine and Bulgaria held their first intergovernmental consultations, during which they agreed on a roadmap for cooperation in energy and maritime security.

The leaders also announced the signing of a security agreement between Ukraine and Bulgaria.

In addition, it became known that Ukraine and Bulgaria plan to test run a passenger train through Romania this summer.
