The newly appointed commander of the 14th separate mechanized brigade, Colonel Taras Maksimov, got in touch with the military, who hold positions on the left bank of the Oskol River in the Kupyansk direction, the Kiїv24 reports, informs the portal PromPolitInform.
It was this site that was in the center of resonance due to problems with the supply of food and water.
During an online conversation, the fighters showed the commander parcels with products delivered to the position. They confirmed that they currently have the most necessary, but are still waiting for rotation.
According to the military, their condition needs to be restored: “We need a little time to fatten up,” they said.
What preceded
The situation was widely publicized after publications in social networks, where it was reported that individual units of the 14th brigade were left without proper support for months. Relatives of the military said that the soldiers were in positions for 9-12 months, sometimes left without food for up to 10-17 days, drank rainwater and drowned snow.
During this time, some military lost weight from 80-90 kg to about 50 kg.
After publicity, the situation began to change: food was delivered to the positions, and the new command took control of the situation.
The General Staff also stated that under favorable conditions, the military plan to evacuate from this site in the near future.
Situation in the direction
The Kupyansk direction remains difficult: Russian troops are actively hitting logistics, in particular with drones, and are trying to advance towards Kupyansk and Kupyansk-Uzlovoye. Because of this, the transportation of food, water and ammunition to advanced positions is constantly under threat.
The command emphasizes: the key task now is to stabilize the provision and prevent the recurrence of such situations.
