Since the beginning of a full-scale war, the Defense Forces have increased the range of attacks on Russian territory by 170%.
It is reported by the Ministry of Defense, informs the portal PromPolitInform.
In 2022, Tu-95 bombers were hit at the Engels-2 air base in the Saratov region, located at a distance of 650 km.
In 2024, the range of destruction by Ukrainian drones increased to 1200 km – the Shahed production plant in Alabuz was under attack. In the same year, drones flew to the Gazprom Neftekhim Salavat refinery 1,500 km from the border.
This year, a record distance to the target of Ukrainian drones was set – 1750 km. They hit the Ukhta oil refinery in the Komi Republic.

“This March alone, our drones visited 5 strategic plants and 10 Russian oil refining facilities. Geography of operations – from the occupied Crimea to the Leningrad region,” the Ministry of Defense said in a statement.
The ministry stressed that long-range strikes are not just a demonstration of capabilities, but a way to deprive the aggressor country of resources for the offensive and the continuation of the war.
Strikes on important objects of the Russian Federation
Recall that the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine specified the consequences of the strike in mid-April at the refinery in Tuapse: 24 tanks were destroyed, four more were damaged.
We will note on April 16, after the first attack, the Tuapse plant actually stopped working completely. The smoke cloud over Tuapse stretched for more than 300 kilometers. NASA satellites recorded active fires on the territory of the enterprise for several more days.
In addition, on April 26, the SBU conducted a large-scale special operation in the occupied Crimea. The soldiers of the Alpha unit attacked the naval base in Sevastopol and the Belbek airfield.
Three warships, a MіG-31 fighter and a number of air defense facilities were hit.
On the night of April 23, drones of the Center for Special Operations “Alpha” of the SBU hit the oil pumping station “Gorky” in the Nizhny Novgorod region of the Russian Federation.
