The forces of unmanned systems of the Armed Forces of Ukraine carried out a successful operation, hitting modern Russian aircraft at an airfield in the Chelyabinsk region. The uniqueness of the attack lies in the distance to the target, which is 1700 kilometers from the state border of Ukraine.
This was reported by the Telegram channel of the Commander of the Unmanned Systems Forces (SBS) of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Robert Brovdi, known by the call sign “Magyar,” this was also confirmed in the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, informs the portal PromPolitInform.
Details of the operation and the loss of the enemy
The attack on the Shagol military airfield took place on April 25, 2026. According to the SBS commander, during the operation, Ukrainian drones hit several units of enemy aircraft. The results of further exploration confirmed the damage to at least four aircraft:
two fifth-generation Su-57 fighters;
one Su-34 fighter-bomber;
one aircraft of unspecified modification.
In addition to aircraft, a service vehicle located between Su-57 fighters was destroyed. Satellite images recorded the process of eliminating the consequences of the impact, in particular, the movement of damaged equipment to the closed parts of the airfield to hide the extent of the damage.
The Madyar commander emphasized that the successful defeat of such aircraft critically affects the reduction of the strike potential of the Russian Federation. Su-34 aircraft are the main platforms that the enemy uses to attack civilian targets and critical infrastructure from a distance of up to 1000 km.
“Every Su-34 destroyed means reducing the number of air strikes, saving civilian lives and reducing the burden on air defense systems,” Brovdi said.
Su-57 fighters pose a particular threat – these are the most modern Russian fifth-generation aircraft with low-visibility technologies. The loss of such equipment is a significant financial blow for the aggressor: the cost of one Su-34 is estimated at 35-50 million dollars, while the price of one Su-57 reaches 100-120 million dollars.
