During the past and current days, Russian troops carried out a massive missile and drone attack on critical infrastructure, in particular the energy sector.
As a result of Russian strikes on May 14, blackouts were recorded in 12 regions of Ukraine and Kyiv, Ukrenergo reported, the PromPolitInform portal informs.
As of the morning, consumers remained without electricity in Kyiv and the Kyiv region, as well as in Poltava, Kharkov, Sumy, Donetsk, Zaporizhzhya, Dnipropetrovsk, Lviv, Volyn, Khmelnitsky, Chernihiv regions.
The company noted that emergency recovery work in all regions began immediately after the stabilization of the security situation.
In addition to the consequences of shelling, power engineers also eliminate damage due to bad weather. Due to thunderstorms and strong gusts of wind in the Dnipropetrovsk and Poltava regions, more than 50 settlements are completely or partially de-energized.
According to Ukrenergo, electricity consumption on May 14 as of 09:30 was 5.1% lower than at the same time the previous day. The reason is called clear weather in most regions and the effective operation of household solar power plants.
At the same time, Ukrainians were urged to postpone active energy consumption for the daytime – from 11:00 to 15:00, as well as to limit the use of powerful electrical appliances in the evening – from 18:00 to 22:00 – and not to turn on several such devices at the same time.
Recall, on May 13, as a result of a drone attack on the Carpathian region, emergency light switches were introduced in Kolomyia.
