Zelensky discussed with Markarova the main drivers of growth of the Ukrainian economy

The President of Ukraine discussed with Oksana Markarova the preparation for the June conference in Gdansk. The priority was defense technologies and attracting investments.

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky met with the adviser on the reconstruction of Ukraine and attracting investments Oksana Markarova. During the meeting, work was coordinated on important sectors of the economy that can become real drivers of economic growth for Ukraine. Zelensky reported this on Telegram, UNN reports. The PromPolitInform portal informs.

“We discussed with Oksana Markarova several areas of priority attention of Ukraine in relations with partners – namely in economic and investment relations. We are preparing to hold the Conference on the Restoration of Ukraine in June. This event will be held in Gdansk. And today, at the next meeting of our International Advisory Group on Investment Attraction and Economic Development of Ukraine, we discussed key expectations from the conference,” Zelensky wrote.

He added that Ukraine needs the political support of our friends, and this will be stronger if it is continued with specific significant flagship projects from the Ukrainian government.

“The role of business and Ukrainian entrepreneurial energy in this should be decisive – combining Ukrainian interests with global corporate experience. Today, we coordinated with Oksana work on important sectors of our economy that can become real drivers of economic growth for Ukraine. The key is the defense technology and innovation sector, opening up full-fledged exports for our capabilities and security experience that has been tested by war. Step by step, we are building the appropriate infrastructure: from political agreements at the highest level to specific cooperation at the business level. We are also preparing economic projects that can be implemented in Ukrainian regions and provide additional stability to our communities,” the President emphasized.

We remind you that Ukraine’s economy returned to growth in April after a severe winter and a recession in the first quarter of the year, with GDP growing by 0.9% in a month. While even the rise in world oil prices is not able to solve the problems that Russia is currently experiencing due to the war it has started against Ukraine.
