Ukraine synchronized sanctions with the 20th package of the EU: dozens of companies were subject to restrictions

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy has put into effect the decision of the National Security and Defense Council on the synchronization of Ukrainian sanctions with the 20th package of restrictions of the European Union. The new measures apply to dozens of individuals and legal entities from Russia, Iran, Sudan, Belarus, the UAE and other countries. This is reported by Rubrika, referring to the Office of the President. The PromPolitInform portal informs.

As noted, the new restrictions cover 120 individuals and legal entities. Some of them were already under sanctions by Ukraine, but the current decision also applies to:

16 Russian citizens,

31 companies from Russia, Belarus, the UAE, Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan and the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine.

The sanctions list includes:

heads of strategic Russian enterprises, budget institutions, military units of the Russian Federation,

persons who cooperate with the occupation authorities in the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine.

Restrictions have also been introduced against enterprises of the Russian military-industrial complex, manufacturers of electronic warfare equipment, software and components for drones. In particular, the following were sanctioned:

manufacturer of aerospace products and components for drones LLC Atlant Aero,

manufacturer of communication systems and components for UAVs and missiles LLC Irz-Zvyazok.

Separately, sanctions were imposed on UAE companies that supply Russia with industrial equipment, chemical products, and aviation components, as well as on a Belarusian oil exporter.

Ukraine also imposed sanctions on three Russian citizens it considers involved in political repression and propaganda. These are:

Prosecutor Lyudmila Balandina, involved in systematic repression and human rights violations against individuals who supported Ukraine or criticized the Russian government;

Judge Dmitry Gordeyev, also involved in repression, who made politically motivated decisions against oppositionists and human rights defenders;

Russian editor and propagandist Maria Sittel, who systematically spread disinformation.

In addition, the restrictive measures were extended to:

19 Iranian citizens,

seven Sudanese citizens,

11 Iranian companies involved in ballistic missile and drone production programs.

“We continue to synchronize the sanctions regimes with the EU and partners. We expect further increased pressure on Russia and all those who help it support aggression. We are already completing joint work on the drafts of the next sanctions decisions of the EU and partner states, in particular the 21st package of sanctions,” said Vladyslav Vlasyuk, Advisor and Presidential Plenipotentiary for Sanctions Policy.
