The Ukrainian technology company BlueBird Tech has announced the launch of mass production of guided aerial bombs (GABs) of its own design. Specialists from the research and design bureau and leading Ukrainian engineers with experience in the field of rocketry will also join the project. This was reported on the company’s official website, Today.ua reports. The PromPolitInform portal informs.
BlueBird Tech noted that the arms manufacturer and the specialized design bureau are joining forces to create a new weapons system. The team has already moved to the practical stage of work and is solving the first engineering tasks necessary to launch production.
The company emphasizes that the decision to begin mass production of guided aerial bombs is dictated by the needs of modern warfare and the active use of such weapons by the Russian army.
“Every day, Russia uses hundreds of guided aerial bombs. Ukraine must respond no less effectively. We see a great demand for such systems and understand how important they are for modern warfare. Therefore, first of all, we will begin mass production of Ukrainian-made CABs,” BlueBird Tech explains.
The company believes that the emergence of its own mass production of such ammunition can become one of the directions for strengthening Ukraine’s defense capabilities. At the same time, details regarding the technical characteristics of future products, production launch dates, or planned production volumes are not disclosed at this time.
BlueBird Tech is a Ukrainian defense-tech company founded in 2023. According to the company, over the three years of operation, the team has grown to over 350 employees, and production sites have been opened in several cities of the country.
The company specializes in the development and production of technologies for defense needs. Its areas of activity include FPV drones, electronic warfare systems, drone detectors, communications equipment, and ground robotic complexes.
BlueBird Tech emphasizes that a key feature of their approach is the constant improvement of products based on feedback from the Ukrainian military. Feedback received from the front allows for rapid adaptation of developments to the real needs of combat units and changes on the battlefield.
The new project for the production of guided aerial bombs will become another direction for the development of the Ukrainian defense and technology sector, which has significantly increased its own production and engineering capabilities in recent years.
