Ukrainian capital markets are switching to EU standards: new rules of the game are being prepared for businesses and investors

Ukraine is embarking on a deep modernization of capital markets, adapting them to European Union norms. This is one of the key stages of financial integration, which should ensure transparency, investor protection and compliance with European rules. Regulators are already preparing changes that will affect the exchange infrastructure, issuers, brokers and investment companies. This is reported by “Pershy Biznesovy“, the PromPolitInform portal reports.

We are talking about the implementation of the requirements of MiFID II, MiFIR, MAR and other regulations that define standards for information disclosure, corporate governance, access to market data and prevention of manipulation. Companies will have to update internal procedures, strengthen compliance and provide more detailed reporting for investors and regulators.

For investors, the transition will mean an increased level of protection, access to better information and reduced risks of unfair practices. It is expected that the harmonization of rules will also open the way for Ukrainian issuers to wider access to European capital markets.

Regulators emphasize that the changes will be implemented in stages so that businesses have time to adapt to the new requirements. Some of the norms have already entered into force, while others are at the final stage of approval.

As a reminder, the transition to European standards will be an important signal for international investors and will increase the competitiveness of the Ukrainian financial market in the long term.
