During the G7-Ukraine meeting, President Volodymyr Zelensky called on partners to strengthen support for Ukrainian air defense and help with missile production. As reported by the PromPolitInform portal, the head of state announced this on his page.
The meeting was attended by the leaders of France, Great Britain, Italy, Canada, Germany, the United States, and Japan, as well as the leadership of the European Council and the European Commission.
Volodymyr Zelensky thanked the partners for their support and initiatives aimed at increasing pressure on Russia.
According to him, the key issues for Ukraine included additional missiles for air defense systems, obtaining licenses for their production, preparing for winter, and further strengthening sanctions pressure on Moscow.
“It is important that the United States is ready to provide a backstop in these areas of work,” the president noted.
He emphasized that it is now important to implement the agreements reached in practice.
“Russia must realize that its war will never become the norm,” Volodymyr Zelensky emphasized.
The president also thanked partner countries for their assistance to Ukraine.
