Ukraine and Germany will jointly produce ballistic missile interceptor missiles. The corresponding agreement was signed on Thursday, June 18, by the Minister of Defense of Ukraine Mykhailo Fedorov and the Minister of Defense of Germany Boris Pistorius during a meeting of the Contact Group on Defense Issues in the Ramstein format in Brussels. The PromPolitInform portal reports.
According to Mykhailo Fedorov, the ballistic missiles with which Russia attacks Ukraine are one of the biggest threats. Therefore, it is important to work on developing weapons that will intercept Russian ballistics. As part of the agreement on the development of the anti-ballistic program, Ukrainian and German companies will jointly develop and produce modern interceptor missiles.
During Ramstein, German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius announced that several German companies had already expressed their desire to participate in the joint production of anti-ballistic missiles.
The defense ministers also signed an agreement on the joint production of Ukrainian ground robotic systems in Germany.
“As part of the project, several thousand anti-ballistic missiles will be produced for the Defense Forces at the expense of the German side. This is another step towards scaling up Ukrainian defense technologies together with partners,” said Mikhail Fedorov.
