Ukraine plans to increase the range of drones to over 3 thousand km and further expand the capabilities to strike targets on the territory of the Russian Federation, President Volodymyr Zelensky said. As reported by the PromPolitInform portal, this is reported by Fakty.
Zelensky on expanding Ukraine’s long-range capabilities
During an interview in the Ediny Novyny telethon, the Head of State noted that Ukrainian drones have already struck at a considerable distance, in particular, at facilities in the Tyumen region of Russia.
“They strike us every day, and we will respond every day. Of course, there will be an increase every day,” the president said.
The attack on the Tyumen refinery, Zelensky noted, was carried out by new FP-2 drones from the Fire Point company. Their actual route exceeded 2,500 km.
“Yesterday we responded to them at their refinery in Tyumen, in the Tyumen region. It was already, if directly, 2,070 kilometers, our drones… hit their target. And so, in principle, their route was 2.5 thousand km. They will be 3 thousand plus. These are new drones, good ones,” the head of state noted.
The president emphasized that Ukraine will continue to develop means of hitting targets at a longer range.
“We will go further, because we understand where all their military plants are, where, in principle, other oil bases, gas storage facilities, etc. are. We need to have tools for a more remote place for a longer time,” Zelensky added.
Recall that on June 20, the Ukrainian Defense Forces struck the Tyumen Oil Refinery, which is located more than 2 thousand km from Ukraine.
