Police officers and civil defense service employees were guaranteed higher payments tied to the subsistence minimum.
The minimum amount of cash benefit for police officers and civil defense service employees was tied to the subsistence minimum. The new rules also provide for indexation of payments and should come into force on January 1, 2027. This is reported by the “Sudovo-Yurydychna Gazeta“, the PromPolitInform portal reports.
President Volodymyr Zelensky signed the law “On Amendments to Certain Legislative Acts of Ukraine Regarding the Modernization of the Amount of Cash Benefit” No. 4909-IX.
The law establishes that the monthly cash allowance of police officers and private and commanding officers of the civil defense service cannot be less than 10 times the subsistence minimum for able-bodied persons established on January 1 of the calendar year.
The cash allowance of police officers and private and commanding officers of the civil defense service consists of:
official salary;
salary for a special rank;
seniority allowance;
bonuses;
other types of cash allowance (including permanent and one-time) determined by the Cabinet of Ministers.
It is planned that the application of the new conditions for calculating cash allowance will begin on January 1, 2027.
Police officers temporarily serving outside Ukraine will continue to receive payment in national currency and will be paid remuneration in foreign currency according to the norms determined by the Cabinet of Ministers.
Police officers seconded to other state authorities, institutions, organizations and seconded will receive financial support on the terms and in the amount determined by the government.
The law provides that the financial support of police officers and ordinary and commanding officers of the civil defense service is subject to indexation in accordance with the law.
