Ukraine received 3.9 billion euros from the EU: the funds will go to budget stability and infrastructure restoration

Ukraine has received another tranche of macro-financial support from the European Union in the amount of 3.9 billion euros. This is part of a long-term assistance package aimed at ensuring the stability of public finances and supporting sectors that are experiencing the greatest burden due to the war. This is reported by “Pershy Biznesovy“, the PromPolitInform portal reports.

According to the government, a significant part of the funds will be used to cover critical budget expenses – financing social programs, medical services, education and support for internally displaced persons. The tranche will also allow Ukraine to fulfill its obligations to international partners and avoid sharp fluctuations in public spending.

A separate block of funding is directed at restoring infrastructure damaged as a result of Russian attacks. This concerns the repair of energy facilities, transport networks, utility systems and strengthening the resilience of the regions that have suffered the most. Part of the funds will be used to modernize the energy sector and prepare for the next heating season.

The EU emphasizes that support for Ukraine is systemic and remains a key element of the common security policy. Brussels expects that transparency in the use of funds and implementation of reforms will remain the main conditions for further payments.

We remind you that the receipt of European funds helps Ukraine maintain macro-financial stability and reduces risks for the currency market. At the same time, they emphasize that the state’s needs remain significant, and the regularity of external financing is critically important for getting through the coming months.
