The harvesting campaign for early grains and legume crops is underway in Ukraine. As of July 21, farmers in all regions have already threshed 1.34 million hectares, or 11% of the projected area, and threshed 5.47 million tons of new crop grain. This was reported by the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine, according to the PromPolitInform portal.
In particular, the following have already been harvested:
wheat – 2.6 million tons from an area of 633.2 thousand hectares with an average yield of 41.1 centners/hectare;
barley – 2.56 million tons from an area of 580.5 thousand hectares with a yield of 44.1 centners/hectare;
peas – 301.4 thousand tons from an area of 121.6 thousand hectares with a yield of 24.8 centners/hectare.
In terms of the volume of harvest of early grain and leguminous crops, farmers of Odessa, Mykolaiv and Dnipropetrovsk regions are currently leading. In particular:
– Odesa region – 1596.7 thousand tons from an area of 385.0 thousand hectares (wheat – 616.5 thousand tons, barley – 858.2 thousand tons, peas – 133.0 thousand tons);
– Mykolaiv region – 1302.6 thousand tons from an area of 365.5 thousand hectares (wheat – 694 thousand tons, barley – 521.7 thousand tons, peas – 83.1 thousand tons);
– Dnipropetrovsk region – 1004.6 thousand tons from an area of 256.5 thousand hectares (wheat – 712.2 thousand tons, barley – 273.5 thousand tons, peas – 18.3 thousand tons).
In parallel, rapeseed harvesting continues. Winter and spring rapeseed have already been threshed on an area of 216.2 thousand hectares, 429.6 thousand tons have been threshed with an average yield of 19.9 centners/hectare.
