Destroyed since the beginning of the war: 5,005 cruise missiles and 1 million 446 thousand occupiers — Russia’s losses in the war with Ukraine as of July 31, 2026

Since the beginning of Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine on February 24, 2022, as of the morning of July 31, 2026 — the 1,619th day of the war — the Defense Forces of Ukraine have destroyed 5,005 cruise missiles and 1,446,150 occupiers, including 1,340 over the past day.

This was reported by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, as informed by the Prompolitynform portal.

It should be noted that the absolute daily record for the destruction of russian cruise missiles was set on August 26, 2024 — when the Defense Forces of Ukraine shot down 102 units, including Kh-101/555 and Kalibr missiles.

In June 2026, Ukrainian air defense demonstrated exceptionally high effectiveness, destroying 89.4% of all cruise missiles launched by the enemy during massive shelling attacks. In addition to cruise missiles, the air defense eliminated 90% of strike UAVs (such as Shahed, Gerbera, and Italmas), as well as 40% of ballistic missiles, which are much more difficult to intercept. This was reported by the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine.

In July 2026, the russian army sharply changed its tactics, reducing the share of cruise missiles in favor of heavy ballistic weapons and anti-ship systems, which significantly complicated the work of air defense. However, in the segment of intercepting classic cruise missiles (Kh-101 and Kalibr), Ukrainian air defense maintained high effectiveness — the average shoot-down rate exceeded 88%. In total, during July 2026, air defense forces shot down at least 55–60 cruise missiles during the largest combined attacks alone.

The total combat losses of the russian occupation army from 24.02.2022 to 31.07.2026 are approximately as follows:

  • Personnel – about 1,446,150 (+1,340) people

  • Tanks – 12,231 (+1) units

  • Armored combat vehicles – 25,056 (+7) units

  • Artillery systems – 47,045 (+42) units

  • Multiple rocket launchers – 1,976 (+0) units

  • Air defense systems – 1,525 (+3) units

  • Aircraft – 439 (+0) units

  • Helicopters – 354 (+0) units

  • Ground robotic systems – 2,081 (+10) units

  • Operational-tactical level UAVs – 435,665 (+1,525) units

  • Cruise missiles – 5,005 (+55) units

  • Ships / boats – 34 (+0) units

  • Submarines – 2 (+0) units

  • Motor vehicles and fuel tankers – 128,034 (+413) units

  • Special equipment – 4,483 (+3) units

Glory to the warriors of the Defense Forces of Ukraine! Together we will defeat the occupiers!
