The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has approved a mechanism for transferring captured Russian military equipment destroyed during the repulsion of armed aggression to foreign museums. The items will be provided free of charge for exhibitions and museum displays. PromPolitInform reports this with reference to the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine. The government supported an initiative by the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine and the Ministry of Culture of Ukraine regarding the free transfer of neutralised Russian weaponry samples abroad. This applies to military equipment captured or obtained during combat operations.
The transferred items will be used by foreign institutions as museum artifacts and public exhibits. All equipment samples have completely lost their combat capabilities and contain no explosive substances or components.
Exhibition geography and project communication goals
Museum institutions in Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia, Denmark, and the Netherlands will receive samples of captured Russian T-72 tanks. Exhibitions abroad are designed to ensure international documentation of the invasion’s consequences and to inform the international community about Ukraine’s struggle for independence.
The implementation of this project aims to develop cultural diplomacy, enhance international awareness regarding Russian aggression, and strengthen cooperation with foreign museum institutions to maintain support from partner states.
The Ministry of Defence of Ukraine also reminded of the operation of the state portal TrophyLab. This resource provides engineers, scientists, laboratories, manufacturers, and international partners with access to studying captured Russian weaponry.
