As of August 18, 2026, the average cost of A-95 petrol at Ukrainian filling stations is about UAH 78.56 per litre, and diesel is UAH 92.20 per litre. The highest fuel prices are recorded at OKKO, WOG, and Socar networks.
This was reported by Glavcom citing Serhii Kuiun, according to the portal PromPolitInform.
The largest filling station networks have updated their petroleum product pricing, and compared to the previous day, the average cost has remained stable, although some companies made adjustments. At Socar, the prices for A-95, A-95+, and A-100 petrol decreased by UAH 2 per litre. Traditionally, the lowest price tags are held at BRSM-Nafta and Ukrnafta filling stations.
Supply situation and market factors
Head of the Antimonopoly Committee Pavlo Kyrylenko explained that the price increase is caused by the shutdown of the country’s largest oil refinery, which makes over 85% of light petroleum products dependent on imports. At the same time, A-95 Consulting Group Director Serhiy Kuyun noted that there is no shortage of diesel fuel on the domestic market and none is expected in the near future. According to the Antimonopoly Committee, average filling station prices grew slower than global indicators: petrol rose by 16% and diesel by 39%.
Impact of external and internal factors on cost
President of the Gas Traders of Ukraine association Andriy Myzovets emphasized that speculative fluctuations in the oil market caused a significant increase in gas prices at European hubs. Director of energy programmes at the Razumkov Centre Volodymyr Omelchenko added that the situation is complicated by internal regulatory decisions and higher margins of Ukrainian networks compared to European traders. Expert Mykhailo Honchar also pointed out the impact of Russian attacks on port infrastructure, which significantly complicates supply logistics.
