During the day on August 20, 2026, 195 combat engagements were recorded at the front. Russian forces used 44 cruise missiles and over 6,600 kamikaze drones to strike positions of Ukrainian units and civilian infrastructure.
This is reported by the portal PromPolitInform, citing the Telegram channel of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
In addition to the massive use of drones, the enemy carried out 55 air raids, during which 157 guided bombs were dropped. In total, more than 2,100 shellings from various types of weapons were recorded against ZSU fortifications and settlements.
Situation on the main front lines
The highest activity of the occupiers was observed in the Kostiantynivka and Pokrovsk directions, where 18 assault actions were recorded in each. The Defense Forces continue to hold back the invaders’ pressure in the areas of Novooleksandrivka, Udachne, and near Kostiantynivka, where some combat engagements are still ongoing.
In the Sloviansk direction, Ukrainian defenders stopped 11 attempts by the enemy to advance towards Ozerne and Rai-Oleksandrivka. In the Lyman direction, five offensive attempts were repelled, and in the Kupiansk direction, the occupiers carried out nine attacks towards Radkivka.
Enemy losses in specific directions
In the Pokrovsk direction, the enemy lost 49 personnel killed and 12 wounded during the current day. Complex enemy equipment was also destroyed, including an artillery system, an electronic warfare device, nine units of special equipment, and a UAV control point.
Ukrainian soldiers eliminated two ammunition depots and 26 enemy shelters. Also, the Defense Forces neutralized or suppressed 199 enemy unmanned aerial vehicles, which significantly complicates reconnaissance and adjustment of enemy fire.
