Section of M-06 highway in Kyiv region closed after explosions

Restrictions are in effect on the section between the 15th and 32nd kilometer of the Kyiv-Chop highway

In the Kyiv region, all traffic has been halted on a segment of the Zhytomyr highway. The restrictions, imposed following a series of explosions, cover a section of the M-06 Kyiv-Chop road between the 15th and 32nd kilometers in both directions. This was reported by Glavcom, according to the portal PromPolitInform.

The patrol police reported the introduction of a travel ban in both directions following incidents near the highway. Drivers are advised to choose alternative routes in advance and pay attention to the instructions of traffic controllers and relevant road markings.

The head of the patrol police department, Oleksiy Biloshytskyi, released bypass routes for the closed section. Motorists should anticipate potential traffic congestion on nearby roads that will be used to redirect traffic flows.

Law enforcement officials promised to provide additional information on when traffic can resume on this part of the M-06 road once the situation stabilizes. As of now, no official details regarding the causes of the explosions or their consequences have been released.

Previously, a large-scale fire broke out in the region near the mentioned highway. Eyewitnesses reported a powerful explosion and the appearance of a thick column of smoke rising above the area adjacent to the roadbed.
