Ukrzaliznytsia and military commanders develop measures to protect passengers
Ukraine is developing new solutions to ensure the stable operation of railway transport during prolonged air raid alerts. The plan is being prepared in cooperation with military command and government officials. This is reported by the portal PromPolitInform, citing the Telegram channel of Mykola Kalashnyk.
Official Mykola Kalashnyk held an operational meeting with Ukrzaliznytsia representatives led by Oleksandr Pertsovskyi, the Kyiv City Military Administration, and military commanders. The main goal of the meeting was to develop solutions for transport and logistics operations under constant threats.
The priority in developing the new rules is passenger safety while maintaining uninterrupted rail connections between Ukrainian regions. To achieve this, the railway operator is improving threat monitoring and response systems in coordination with the military.
Changes at stations and platforms
Among the initiatives currently being considered by experts is transitioning railway stations to 24-hour operations. There are also plans to implement passenger and train dispersion schemes to avoid crowds gathering simultaneously on adjacent platforms.
Special attention will be paid to reducing boarding and disembarking times. This is planned to be achieved by simplifying ticket control procedures during periods of elevated military threats.
Alerts and curfew adjustments
Furthermore, meeting participants are working on a differentiated public warning system based on the specific type of threat. Another item on the agenda is the potential adjustment of curfew hours in the capital and the Kyiv region.
These steps aim to facilitate public movement, improve logistics processes, and support the Ukrainian economy. The prepared proposals will be presented at the initiative of Serhiy Koretskyy, and all decisions will be implemented only after military approval.
