The Russian political and military leadership disagree on the timelines
Russia's political leadership has set a new deadline to capture the entire Donbas by the end of 2026, while the military is asking to postpone it to March 31, 2027. This was stated by Pavlo Palisa, who noted that the enemy has already postponed deadlines in this direction 15 times. This is reported by the portal PromPolitInform, citing the Telegram channel of Pavlo Palisa.
Russian troops have failed to achieve any operational success in the region for years, paying a heavy price for minor advances. According to Pavlo Palisa, this means hundreds of killed and wounded enemy soldiers per square kilometer.
Discussions with US Special Envoys
Details regarding enemy plans and the reasons why they remain on paper were discussed during a meeting with US Presidential Special Envoys Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner. The conversation also included the Head of the Presidential Office, the Commander-in-Chief, the Head of the Main Directorate of Intelligence, and the Commander of the Air Force.
The Threat of Jet Drones
A separate topic of discussion was enemy air attacks and the use of new strike assets. As Pavlo Palisa noted, Russia is using jet drones without any technological breakthroughs of its own, since neither the design nor the engine are their developments.
Need for Partners’ Assistance
Ukraine continues to fight under conditions of deficit and is working on interceptors to protect its cities. The volume of assistance from international partners directly translates into saved lives of both military personnel and civilians.
