Budget funding for professional development is now available to new categories of educators
The Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine has expanded the scope of the 'Money Follows the Teacher' pilot initiative, which provides 1500 hryvnias for professional development. The registration deadline for those wishing to join the project has been extended until the end of October 2026. This was reported by RBC-Ukraine (Ірина Костенко) citing the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine, according to the portal PromPolitInform.
The financing mechanism for professional development of educators, implemented as part of the New Ukrainian School reform, has currently reached over 38,000 industry workers. This initiative involves crediting a virtual account of an educator with 1500 hryvnias, which can be spent on self-selected courses via the national ‘Vektor’ platform.
New categories of recipients
The list of educators eligible for this state support now includes 5th and 6th-grade teachers of the New Ukrainian School, social pedagogues, and staff at specialized educational institutions, including military, sports, and arts lyceums. Teachers working in Ukrainian educational centers abroad have also been included in the pilot.
Specialized training tracks
A wider range of training programs is now available for new participant categories. In particular, social pedagogues will be able to take courses focused on child rights protection and social-pedagogical support, while teachers abroad can gain knowledge on organizing the educational process within the framework of the Ukrainian studies component.
Application deadlines
According to a government decision, the registration period for the pilot project has been extended until the end of October 2026. As of September of the same year, more than 153,000 users had registered on the ‘Vektor’ platform, indicating high interest in a flexible approach to professional development.
