Kyiv hosted the annual Yalta European Strategy meeting under the slogan "Peace Through Strength Now"
Ukraine has a rare window of opportunity to force Russia into substantive negotiations to end the war. This was stated by businessman Viktor Pinchuk at the opening of the YES forum. This was reported by Glavcom, according to the portal PromPolitInform.
According to the forum founder, achieving peace through strength has become possible by combining three factors: available resources, the will to fight, and technological innovation. Pinchuk noted that it was due to the superiority in innovative developments in 2026 that Ukraine was able to change the course of the conflict, creating prerequisites for diplomatic pressure on the enemy.
The formula for the power of the Ukrainian state
During the speech, the businessman emphasized that the historic phrase “peace through strength” is mistakenly attributed to modern politicians, although it was actually authored by Neville Chamberlain. Pinchuk stressed that any slogans lose their meaning if they are not backed by real defense capabilities and the state’s ability to strike back.
According to the speaker, Ukraine has effectively become the “military Silicon Valley” of Europe. This allows Ukrainian forces to effectively destroy Russian military infrastructure, airfields, and defense plants while depleting the enemy’s manpower faster than Russia manages to conduct mobilization measures.
Diplomatic prospects and security
During the conference held in Kyiv on September 11–12, experts, politicians, and military officials discussed the future of Europe’s security architecture. Participants focused on the challenges of Ukraine’s further European integration and the development of defense technologies, which have become a key factor in countering Russian aggression.
Previously, proposals for organizing tripartite negotiations involving representatives of Ukraine, Russia, and the United States appeared in the information space, initiated, according to sources, by CIA Director John Ratcliffe. The Russian side currently expresses skepticism regarding the format of such a meeting, stating that negotiations are possible only after all key agreements have been finalized.
